We have just watched the liberal media spend the past four years making all sorts of accusations about the Department of Justice. They claimed that President Trump only used the Department of Justice as his own personal tool to root out his political enemies. Of course, this was never the case and any sane American knows this.
ABC chief anchor George Stephanopoulos did not get this memo. He wants the Biden administration to behave in this exact manner. That’s because he’s operating under the misguided idea that Trump “got away” with it before. During a Sunday interview with Biden Chief of Staff Ron Klain on This Week, this Clinton era lapdog decided that he was ready to fight back.
We already warned you, though. For starters, he suggested that “tension between getting unity, getting things done, working with the Republicans” was a major problem. He did not stop there, either. He did mention some of the Democratic nonsense that took place during the last administration, referring to the “investigating any wrongdoing that occurred during the Trump administration.”
Before he started to speak with Klein, Stephanopoulos did note that Biden has already “expressed a preference that he doesn’t want his presidency consumed by Trump investigations,” which is understandable enough. No president wants to be defined by the one that preceded them. There are some Democrats who are concerned about the current state of affairs as well.
“Failure to hold financial and political wrongdoing accountable in the past has invited greater malfeasance by bad actors. A repeat of those failures in 2021 further emboldens criminality by our national leaders and continues America down the path of lawlessness and authoritarianism. There must be accountability,” said Congressman Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) last week.
“How do you balance moving forward with getting accountability?” the ABC anchor wondered. Klain wanted to diffuse this question if possible. In his own words, he said that he “is not going to tell the Justice Department who to investigate or who not to investigate.” Klain had more to offer on the topic, though.
“That’s who we saw the past four years. The President tampering with the Justice Department, egging on investigations, so on and so forth. He’s going to pick an excellent attorney general, an independent Justice Department. And that department will make decisions independently free of politics, free of political favor in either direction as to how to enforce the laws.
That’s the way it should be. That’s the way it’s always been. That’s the way it needs to be if we’re going to have the kind of rule of law that’s so important in our country,” he added. Stephanopoulos was not pleased with the answer and continued to press the issue with Klain. He wanted to know more about the presumptive president-elect’s thought process when it comes to naming an attorney general.
This would provide him with some form of a clue as to what Biden and his cronies plan to do about the Trump question that is currently hanging over his presidency. If they are not tough enough on Trump, the progressives are going to be ticked off. Klain is playing this particular card pretty close to the vest, as most would expect. This is not an announcement that the administration is going to make until Biden is comfortable.
Right now, we will have to wait until Biden makes his official announcements this week. “I knew you weren’t going to tell me who it was. I was hoping you might tell me which ones it was,” said the host and that’s about the truest thing that he said all day. This man only wanted to try and pump Klain for information.
He could have just waited a few days but that’s beside the point. This man’s a professional badger. Biden’s chief of staff may have been pressed on the matter but he is not willing to tip his hand to anyone just yet….not even the leftists.
